🗓️ Time Off & Rest Days

Know your rights

Weekly Rest Days

•1 Rest Day Every 7 Days: You are entitled to at least one continuous 24-hour rest day every 7 days.

•No Forced Work: Your employer cannot force you to work on your rest day or offer extra pay instead of granting your rest day.

Statutory Holidays (15 Days in 2026)

•Mandatory Time Off: You are entitled to all 15 statutory holidays per year under Hong Kong law (including Easter Monday added in 2026).

•No Buy-Outs: Employers cannot pay you extra money to skip a statutory holiday. If you must work on a statutory holiday, your employer must give an alternative day off within 60 days with at least 48 hours’ prior notice.

•Overlapping Rest Days: If a statutory holiday falls on your regular rest day, your employer must grant you the next available non-holiday day off.

Paid Annual Leave

•Year 1 & 2: 7 days of paid annual leave per year after completing 12 months of service.

•Year 3+: Increases progressively (8 days in Year 3, up to a maximum of 14 days after 9+ years).

•Home Leave: Employers must also provide a paid return flight ticket to your home country upon contract renewal or completion.
